Uniform Swap
The purpose of the Uniform Swaps
The Uniform Swaps were set up as a fund raising activity by the HSA as well as help parents supplement their annual uniform purchases. They aren't intended to be the sole uniform source for families. In order to keep the quality of the students appearance at a high standard, the acceptance of items for uniform swaps will be only those items that are gently used and without stains, rips, tears, discoloration, hems intact and all buttons present. The uniforms must be from the approved distributor - Uniform Depot - with the appropriate logo on them. The uniforms turned in for swap must be of a quality that reflect that the child has only "outgrown it" versus "outworn it". The Uniform Swaps function as a fund raiser because there is no transferring of credit from one account to another. Credit is accrued in individual family accounts at the beginning of the school year and all unused credit is wiped off all accounts at the end of each school year. However, a family may purchase items at any swap even if they do not have any credit accrued. Items that are turned in to the swap will be considered a donation when the last child of a family is graduating or a family is no longer attending St. Josephs School, also because there is no transferring of credit from account to account. Notification of swap dates/times are by flyer, distributed in the Wednesday envelopes. Items brought in for swap must be brought into the office by the date requested by the Uniform Swap Coordinator. The bag/container must be legibly labeled with the family name if credit is desired for use in the upcoming swap. Items will be inspected by the Uniform Swap Committee and given credit for swap only after meeting the standards outlined.
