Artist: Mary Kay Fetch, 8th
Hero: Julie Andrews
Why she is a hero: "She's a great actress and singer. Recently, she lost her singing voice but has still stayed strong. All the characters she's played in Hollywood have been positive role models."
Artist: Kelly Sullivan, 8th
Hero: Mary
Why she is a hero: "She was the mother of Christ. She never sinned. She is a great role model for everyone."
Artist: Kaitlin Kasay, 8th
Hero: Pat Tillman
Why he is a hero: "He had courage and dedication. He gave up his multimillion dollar football contract to fight for our country."
Art Overview
In art classes this year, the students will be traveling around the world and moving up the timeline exploring a variety of artists and art movements.
Grades K-4 use different kinds of lines to create patterns to decorate their hands -
Recognizing and celebrating the diversity of all the people God made and loves from around the world…
All classes just finished their ancient Aboriginal Animal Totems after a visit to Australia, the land “down under”.

Art Club
The Art Club is open to Middle School students; with a limit of 15 students. Slots will be filled by previous/current members first, then by band students, followed by new members on a first come/first serve basis.
Requirements
- Love ART!
- Hard worker
- Commitment ( 3 unexcused absences will result in your membership being given to the next person on the waiting list
Objectives
- To participate in additional art projects, contests and workshops within a club atmosphere.
- To be a service organization to/for our school and community.
- To meet with and view the work of local and regional artists.
Schedule
Regular meeting will be during LUNCH on Thursday s. Some additional “lunchbox” meetings may be necessary to meet deadlines on some projects. Some field trips may be scheduled during regular school hours and some projects will necessitate after school meetings.
